We supported CLASP in selecting market institutions (MIs) to fund under the Energy Access Institutions Facility. We conducted a landscape assessment and stakeholder mapping of MIs, which are organisations working on supporting and scaling the distributed renewable energy (DRE) sector in underserved markets. We assessed the roles of key organisations, identfied existing gaps in support services and developed an interactive sector trends monitoring platform. The work involved extensive desk research, interviews with at least 30 stakeholders, and the compilation of all data into a structured market database that includes MI activities, funding flows, and intervention areas.
